Oundle is a small market town lying on the river Nene. Pupils attending Laxton School are drawn from a circle of roughly 25 miles radius which includes Peterborough, Stamford, Corby, Oakham, and Kettering.
The School aims to provide an environment in which all pupils can achieve the best possible academic qualifications, whilst encouraging them to think for themselves and acquire a set of values for later life.
Secondly we aim to foster both a sense of belonging to a community and of being useful to it and the community at large. Despite being outnumbered by Oundle's boarders, Laxton pupils happily have a strong sense of identity.
Thirdly we hope to imbue in pupils a sense of achievement, allowing the particular talents of the individual to develop, be recognised and appreciated by others. A prospectus can only give a first impression of the kind of school we are. We are happy to welcome, at any time, prospective pupils and their parents wishing to find out more.
Academic Scholarships of up to half fees are available at 11+, 13+ and Sixth Form Entry. Music Scholarships are available at 13+ and Sixth Form.
